On Thursday at the ECCC, French Catholic priest and witness François Ponchaud finalized his testimony in Case 002, followed by oral submissions from the defense for Khieu Samphan and the prosecution on Khieu Samphan’s application for his immediate release on bail.

François Ponchaud, author of the 1977 book Cambodia: Year Zero, continued his testimony in Case 002 at the ECCC on Wednesday with prosecutors, civil party lawyers, and defense attorneys questioning him on life under the reign of former King Sihanouk, the fall of Phnom Penh, and the character of co-accused Khieu Samphan.
