Cambodia Tribunal Monitor
Cambodia Tribunal Monitor

The Cambodia Tribunal Monitor is the primary source for news and information on the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).

From April 1975 to January 1979, an estimated 1.7 million Cambodian citizens died under the Khmer Rouge regime. This year, a special war crimes tribunal designed to try senior members of the Khmer Rouge for atrocity crimes will commence near Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The ECCC will oversee the proceedings and is a joint partnership of the United Nations and the Royal Government of Cambodia.

We are a consortium of academic, philanthropic and non-profit organizations committed to providing public access to the tribunal and creating a forum for expert commentary throughout the judicial process.

The Cambodia Tribunal Monitor will serve as a source for the latest news on the day-to-day activity of the Tribunal and as a forum for thoughtful discourse and observation. Once the trials formally begin later this year, we will provide daily tape-delayed video of the court proceedings, as well as guest commentary from leading experts from all over the world.

Please continue checking back for new information and updates in the coming months.
